Uhhhh well damn!!! This was so good and, for me, so relatable. The ease you can have with strangers versus those who know you is wild, and you captured that so wonderfully. Beautiful piece. ❤️ Welcome back ;)

I've always thought about this. I think people often confuse being socially confident with being emotionally open, when they're actually very different things. It's much easier to be charming around strangers because there's no history, no expectations, and no real risk. You get to present a version of yourself without carrying the weight of who you've been.

The people who know us best have seen our contradictions, mistakes, and past selves, and that kind of visibility can feel far more vulnerable than making small talk with someone we'll never see again.
